A Houston-area high school senior says he, or maybe it's she, is being discriminated against 'cause she, there we go again, HE likes to dress as a girl.
O’Rhonde Chapman, 17, (Pictured left via KHOU-TV) was born with all of the parts normally associated with boys, but doesn't feel all that manly."But Monday was the first time Chapman wore a wig and stiletto heels to school. The principal told him to change his clothing or go home. Chapman was told he was in violation of the school’s dress code policy."
The school says this has nothing to do with discrimination, but rather an inability to follow the school dress code.
Unless the wearing of TACKY purple heels is in the handbook, than this is kinda, sorta discrimination. Is he/she a distraction? To some. Like our recent post about the Hardin County boy whose hair was too long, this all comes down to a wig."The Aldine ISD dress code states that the hair length for boys cannot extend below the bottom of a shirt collar. It also reveals that wigs are not acceptable as a cover-up for hair not meeting the dress code."
Apparently, the hair beneath his wig conforms to school standards, and the school has no rules about wig length (they can't think of EVERYTHING).
This is all a question of independence. High school kids are experimenting with their looks, personalities, mannerisms...everything. It's like a giant "who am I" laboratory. So this kid likes to wear pumps to school, who doesn't. Unless he's hiding drugs under that wig, kicking him out of class will only get school administrators served. With a lawsuit, that is.
(Gator's note: We anxiosly await FF's Port Arthur, cross-dressing hookers retort at any moment. These kids are, after all, getting that high school degree for something).

Well if he has family jewels - then until he is off campas or on his own - conform to the rules - when he goes home heck become a SHIM - who cares. But don't distract the rest of the school just because you don't know what you are - It can't be discremenation if he a HE that wanna be a Shim
This probably is not just some bored teenager goofing off or messing around... He's probably been bullied a lot for doing this, and most teenage boys would be embarrassed to be on the news for dressing as a girl.
ABC News had a good article a couple years ago encouraging more sensitivity toward transgender kids: http://i.abcnews.com/print?id=3088298
Gender is not always a clear simple case of 'male or female' as people like to think it always is (and mock anyone who doesn't fit easily into only one of the two boxes). "If he is a he" isn't always so simple.
Some people have endocrine abnormalities that cause them to feel different than other people of their assigned gender. Some people's bodies developed differently from their minds from unusual hormone variations while they were in the womb. Some people are born with DNA that is genetically male in some areas of their body (XY) and genetically female in other areas of their body (XX), called mosaicism or chimerism. Some people are born with DNA that has unusual chromosome combinations that aren't XY or XX, such as XO, XXX, XXY, XYY, etc. There are also some transgender people who can't be readily explained by what medical science has discovered so far.
Conditions such as these are often unknown and unrecognized, and the person just knows they feel different from their friends for some invisible reason.
All transgender people are in a very difficult position in our judgmental society, and people should try to be more accepting and understanding of them.
I would like to see this drag queen sashay into the Boudain Hut here in Port Arthur on a dance night, wearing an Obama campaign button along with those stilettos.
Speaking of stilettos and Barlows…
He would be de-balled and peckerless before he finished his Shirley Temple. These rednecks hate anything that’s black…especially black queers.
Look at the bright side: He might be a nice addition to Leroy’s stable of AC-DC crack whores.
Why the boudain hut? Are the gay lovers and rednecks still hanging out there?!?!? Don't blame the President for this. The kids in Houston, for goodness sake! Even though the Klan in Port Arthur has lost some of power... I do think this kid should dress at HOME with this stuff!!! But keep your klan ATTITUDES out of the media! Nuff siad
Wait - you want society to be more receptive to cross dressing? OH PLEEZE - if God wanted you to be a SHIM - he'd have made something other than he or she. It's like black or white - they only thing you get in the middle is a little gray - and then it isn't either black or white any more. Nah - sorry - society doesn't have to like anything - and the only thing I get a kick out of it is seeing how much they go through to be something they ain't - kinda like dressing up for Halloween or the Prom on a daily basis. I know there was an ol' boy in the french quarters of New Orleans that nut cut some Shim for coming on to him - getting him all hot and bothered, then couldn't do a darn thing about the hard-on. That dude is asking for problems going to school like that - and I ain't gotta be more sensitive. They either is or aint a dude.
FF, You are the man!!!
That boy needs a good spankin, and I wanna give it to him.
